Positives about Monday Night Raw:

The tag team match between The New Day and The Hurt Business was a solid match. Both delivered as usual. While, it’s nice to see the New Day get the titles again, I wasn’t as excited about this win. I think it’s too soon to have The Hurt Business this soon.  I felt the domination of them plus Bobby Lashley and MVP at the top of all of this, it was nice for the whole squad to be dripping in gold.

With that being said, I think this was done to make the random match with The New Day and AJ Styles and Omos happen without hurting the Hurt Business. I feel WWE needed a way to get AJ Styles in Wrestlemania somehow and this was the way they did it.

It was great to see Asuka. Though the match itself was short, there was a side to Asuka that I really liked. Unfortunately, Asuka’s title reign has been horrendous and lack luster. Asuka is too good of a wrestler for what WWE has done with her the last few months. Asuka being aggressive and almost violent bordered on her days as Hana. I hope we get more of that. Let Asuka dominate like she’s supposed to.

The match between Matt Riddle and Mustafa Ali was pretty good. Both work from the both of them. Even though Mustafa did lose this, I hope he gets another shot and the outcome is him becoming the new US champion.

Finally, the match between Bobby Lashley and Sheamus was great. Both of them beat the crap out of each other. I feel the need to once again toot the horn for Sheamus. He has been so solid the last year or so and I think everyone should appreciate what he does in the ring.

Negatives about Monday Night Raw:

I honestly didn’t understand the whole segment and this whole feud between Shane McMahon and Braun Strowman. It came out of nowhere and frankly, I find it quite ridiculous. Nobody asked for this. Not a soul and yet here we are. Shane throwing the bucket of slime on Braun reminded me of some cheesy Nickelodeon show from the 90s. Not even semi ok like they have at their award show.

The Damian Priest match was a squash match. While, I understand showing off Bad Bunny etc. I wish the let Damian shine properly. He is a fantastic wrestler and we need to see that outside of squash matches now that he is on Monday Night Raw.

The match between Naomi, Lana, Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great. I feel that they are doing my girl Naomi dirty and I just wish they let her shine like the Queen that she is.

The match between The Miz and Drew McIntyre was okay. Could’ve been better. Both men wanting a rematch made sense to me, but this week it felt kind of flat to me.

Overall Thoughts:

This week of Monday Night Raw was a bit all over the place. There were some solid matches and segments. I enjoyed some of them greatly. The other stuff though I could’ve done without. The fact that Monday Night Raw is already three hours, I think WWE needs to find a way to keep everything interesting for the whole 3 hours. I do understand we are in the Thunderdome era, but after a while it’s like WWE what are we doing here? Something needs to give.

With that being said, I’m hopeful things will improve to build up to Wrestlemania. Fingers crossed it will.
