NBA Betting Odds & Trends 02/20/2021

We’re on to another Saturday night in the NBA. Friday was definitely an odd one, but lets explore some trends in tonight’s slate of games.

Golden State Warriors vs Charlotte Hornets

According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, the Warriors are given at 63.8% chance to win this game. Currently, the consensus spread is Golden State -2.5. The Warriors moneyline is set at -130 with the Hornets at +110. The game total is set at 234.5 points.

This is a difficult game to get a read on, but there are some interesting trends. The Hornets have covered the spread in 7 of their last 10 games including 3 of their last 5. They have covered spreads of -2.5, +1.5, and +1.0 in their last five games. The Warriors, on the other hand, have covered the spread just 2 times in their last 5 games.

Obviously, the matchup between Steph Curry and LaMelo Ball will be the key here as Ball will have his hands full with the 2 time MVP.

The Warriors have won 5 of their last 10 games, but the Hornets have won 6 of their last time games. Over the last 5 games, both teams have won 3 times. Both teams are coming off of losses. As the Away favorite, the Warriors are 3-1 while the Hornets are 6-5 as the Home underdog.

The game total in this game is very high at 234.5 points, 10 points above the combined averages these teams score. The Hornets have seen the OVER in 7 of their last 10 games, but the Warriors have seen it 5 times out of their last 10 games.

Bet this game cautiously as each of these teams is hard to read. However, trends point to considering the Hornets covering +2.

Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are given a 61% chance to win this game, but they will be without Anthony Davis and potentially Dennis Schroder as well. Before betting this game, consider how difficult that will make this game to bet.

The Miami Heat have won just 2 of their last 5 games and the Lakers have won 3 of their last 5. Both of these teams are very inconsistent at the moment and difficult to read. The Heat moneyline is a good value of +140 tonight while the Lakers is at -166. Considering the injuries here, there could be good value in that Miami moneyline.

The Lakers spread is at -3.5 in this game. Both teams have covered the spread just 4 times in their last 10 games.

Sportsbooks have the game total set at 208 points. This is a reasonably low total that could be worth taking a risk on.

Sacramento Kings at Chicago Bulls

Chicago is given a 52.5% chance to win this game and currently have 0 injuries. However, they are receiving a nice value for their moneyline at +105 and are +2 in the spread. Despite playing well last night against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Bulls are underdogs here with nice positive value.

Both teams have seen the spread covered 5 out of their last 10 games, but Sacramento is on a 5 game losing streak missing the spread in those 5 games as well. The Bulls have covered the spread 3 out of their last 5 games.

The game total is set at a very high 235.5 points. While the Kings have seen the OVER in 6 out of 10 games including 4 straight, the Bulls have seen it 4 out of 10 games and have seen the UNDER in back to back games. The game total may not be worth looking at unless you bet an adjusted line live.

Phoenix Suns at Memphis Grizzlies

The red-hot Phoenix Suns are given a 63% chance to win this game tonight and are currently -6.5 into this game with a 71% chance to cover this spread.

Value is there for the Grizzlies +230, but this is a risky pick as Phoenix has won 8 out of their last 10 games and 4 out of their last 5. Memphis has won 3 out of their last 5 games, but have lost to both playoff contenders in New Orleans and Los Angeles. Phoenix has beaten New Orleans, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Milwaukee proving that their wins are against quality opponents.

Phoenix has covered the spread 8 out of their last 10 games and 4 out of their last 5 while Memphis has done this just 4 times out of their last 10 and 3 out of their last 5.

The game total is set at 224.5 points at this time. Memphis has seen the over in 8 out of their last 10 games while Phoenix has seen it 6 out of 10 games, but 4 out of their last 5.

Trends point toward Phoenix -6.5 and OVER 224.5.

Portland Trailblazers at Washington Wizards

One of the sneaky quality games of the night, the Wizards have won 3 straight games as Russell Westbrook is starting to look healthy and Damian Lillard is playing himself into MVP consideration as the Blazers have won 8 out of their last 10 games.

The Blazers are given a 60.9% chance to win this game a 68% chance to cover POR -4.5. There is nice value in WAS +170 to win outright while the Blazer -190 is not quite as valuable.

Portland is red-hot winning 6 straight games while Washington has won 3 straight games.

The game total is set at 242.5 points which is pretty high, but both of these teams are offensive juggernauts at this point and it is reasonable to consider that this massive game total could see the OVER. However, you may want to leave your bets on either the spread or moneyline.

One streak has to come to an end tonight, but it should not be The Blazers. I’d consider POR -4.5 as my bet for this game.
