Monday Night Raw Recap (February 15, 2021)

Miz TV and Drew McIntyre

Monday Night Raw opened up with The Miz doing a segment of The Miz TV. He made fun of Drew McIntyre calling him Andrew. Eventually Drew came down and headbutted The Miz. By the end of the segment, The Miz said he was taking himself out of the Elimination Chamber as he already had his shot.

Matt Riddle and Lucha House Party vs. The Hurt Business (Six-Man Tag Team Match)

Winner: Matt Riddle and Lucha House Party

The first half of the match was dominated by The Hurt Business as Gran Metalik took much of the punishment from The Hurt Business. They kept Gran isolated for much of the match until he was able to tag in Matt Riddle. Matt was able to get some much needed offense for his team. While he did this Gran and Lince Dorado was able to knock both Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin to the floor. Matt did a Floating Bro to MVP and won the match.

After the match, Bobby Lashley attacked the Lucha House Party before once again putting Matt in the Hurt Lock.

Charlotte Flair and Asuka vs. Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce

Winner: None

Asuka and Charlotte Flair took turns beating up Peyton Royce. However, Peyton was able to kick Asuka which changed the tide of the match. Once Asuka was able to tag in Charlotte, Peyton tagged in Lacey Evans. However, Lacey got a mic and said that she was pregnant by Ric Flair and the match was done leaving no winner.

Personally, this match was pointless and served no purpose. While I understand not having Lacey do anything physical as she is pregnant in real life, they could’ve spun this another way in my opinion.

Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz

Winner: Kofi Kingston

Earlier in the show, Adam Pearce set up a match between The Miz and Kofi Kingston to see who would take The Miz spot in the Elimination Chamber. As John Morrison was “gone” making a rap album, The Miz said if he won, John will take his place and obviously if Kofi won, he will take the spot.

Kofi came in hot taking The Miz down multiple times for several near falls. The Miz did a few neck breakers to turn the tide for a bit, but that didn’t last long. After a commercial break, The Miz was able to do  double ax handle and went for a pin. Kofi kicked out of that. Kofi did a Boom Drop. He then tried to set up a Trouble in Paradise. However, The Miz was able to counter by rolling Kofi up. Kofi was able to then do a SOS. It was unsuccessful. The Miz went for Kofi’s knee and did a Figure Four. Kofi got to the ropes to force a rope break. Kofi then did a Skull-Crushing Finale. He tried for a roll up, but when that failed he went for a Trouble in Paradise to win the match.

 Lana vs. Shayna Baszler

Winner: Shayna Baszler

Shayna Baszler went for Lana early going after her joints with several types of holds and maneuvers. Lana slapped Shayna which cause Shayna to become angrier as she punished Lana. Outside of the ring, Nia Jax tried to go after Naomi, but she got sent into the ring post. Lana was able to roll up Shayna, but Shayna kicked out. Shayna went for a knee to the face and then put her in the Kirifuda Clutch for the win.

Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus vs. Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles vs. Kofi Kingston

 (Gauntlet Match)

Winner: Sheamus

This was a match to determine who will be the final entrant for the Elimination Chamber. The match started with Kofi Kingston and AJ Styles. As Kofi was still nursing his knee injuries from his match with The Miz, AJ took advantage of it throughout this portion of the match. While, Kofi did get some offense in, but AJ did a Phenomenal Forearm to eliminate him from the match.

Drew McIntyre came out next. He beat up AJ for a good while. He threw AJ around like a rag doll. AJ used a forearm to change the tide knocking Drew unto the floor. He then shoved Drew into the ring post. AJ put Drew into a headlock which Drew fought out of and answered with an overhead suplex. AJ did a calf crusher and Drew responded with a a head butt. AJ tried to do a Phenomenal Forearm, but Drew countered with a Claymore and eliminated AJ.

Jeff Hardy came in next and took it to Drew trying to build momentum for this upcoming PPV. Drew did a Future Shock DDT and a suplex. He tried for a Claymore, but Jeff got out of the way. Jeff did a Twist of Fate and tried to do a Swanton Bomb, but Drew put up his knees. Drew did a Claymore and eliminated Jeff.

Randy Orton came in next, but he didn’t last too long. He was distracted by Alexa Bliss and he left the ring which allowed him to be counted out and eliminated.

Last up was Sheamus. Sheamus attacked Drew from behind and the two of them went at it. Sheamus used his knees to punish Drew. Drew was able to get some space by doing a Glasgow Kiss. He then did a Future Shock DDT. Drew did a overhead suplex, but Sheamus countered with a Brogue Kick to win the natch and take the final spot in the Elimination Chamber.

Other Happenings on Monday Night Raw:

Alexa Bliss did a segment during the show where she was doing a ritual to bring back The Fiend. She also used this time to warn Randy Orton that things were far from over between him, her and The Fiend.

Also, in a backstage segment, Akira Tozawa pinned R-Truth to win the 24/7 Championship title. Immediately after, Damian Priest stood behind Akira. This allowed Bad Bunny to come and pin Akira becoming the new 24/7 champion.
