Betting Preview for NBA Action January 12th, 2021

We’ve not done a good job covering the NBA here on Shooting the Sports Ish, so we’re going to change that now as we will give you a daily quick hits write-up of each of the NBA games on the daily schedule.

Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Covid issues make this a challenging game to bet. Skip it.

Denver Nuggets vs. Brooklyn Nets

No Kyrie Irving in this one and the Nets feel it as they’ve lost their last 2 games. Both teams are 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 games. The Nuggets are 0-1 as away dogs, and the Nets are 1-4 as home favorites against the spread. This is a tough game to read, but as it’s currently set at Nets -1, I like Nuggets to cover this one, especially with Brooklyn losing their last 2 games against much more inferior teams than the Nuggets.

The Nuggets have gone OVER 8 times in their last 10 games, and the Nets have hit OVER 6 times in their last 11. The Nuggets have seen a point total go OVER 3 times in their last 4 games on the road, while Brooklyn has seen this happen 5 times in their last 8. The points are set very high at 230.5, but the Nets have seen that total 3 times in their last 10.

Denver is 5-5 over their last 10 games while the Nets are 4-6. The Nuggets are 3-1 on the road while the Nets are 2-3 at home.

Utah Jazz vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Utah Jazz are currently sitting at 10.5 point favorite and are 5-5 overall and 3-3 away against the spread in their last 10 games. The Cavaliers are 4-6 overall and 2-1 at home against the spread.

The Jazz has seen UNDER the game total 6 times in their last 10, and the Cavaliers have seen the same result 9 times in their last 11 games.

Utah is 6-4 in their last 10 games and is 5-2 on the road, while the Cavaliers are 4-6 going 2-1 at home. The Cavaliers have lost 3 of their last 4 games.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Houston Rockets

The Lakers are favored by 4.5 points in this one and are 5-5 against the spread in the last 10 games, while the Rockets are 3-5. As the visiting favorites, the Lakers are 3-2 while the Rockets are 1-1 as home dogs.

Neither of these teams sees the OVER very often. The Lakers have seen the OVER 0 times on the road while the Rockets have seen it just 1 time at home.
The Lakers are 8-2 in their last 10 games, while the Rockets are 3-5 this season and have lost 3 of their last 4 games.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

San Antonio is 6-4 overall and 0-2 against the spread on the road, while OKC is 6-3 overall and 1-2 against the spread at home.
OKC has covered the spread of each of their last 3 games, while San Antonio has done so just 2 times in their last 5 games.

San Antonio has hit the OVER 5 times in their last 10 games and is 3-3 against the O/U on the road, while OKC has done this twice at home.
Each of these teams has won 3 of their last 4 games. The Spurs are 1-1 as the away favorite while OKC is 0-3 as home underdogs.

Indiana Pacers vs. Golden State Warriors

The Pacers are 6-4 in their last 10 games and 1-0 on the road against the spread; the Warriors are 5-5 overall and 1-3 at home against the spread.

Indiana has seen the OVER all 3 games on the road while the Warriors have seen that total twice. The Pacers are 1-0 as Away Underdogs while the Warriors are 1-3 as home favorites.
