Drew McIntyre Opens Monday Night Raw.
Drew McIntyre mentions the fact that Roman Reigns shouldn’t have the attitude of being above anyone else. Randy Orton made an appearance on the TitanTron and said he wasn’t going to lose and that Drew didn’t faze him. The Miz and John Morrison also made an appearance, but none of them were not able to hinder Drew.
Asuka, Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke vs. Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax and Lana
Winner: Asuka, Mandy Rose, and Dana Brooke
This match, for the most part, was dominated by Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax. This dominance caused Mandy to get injured on the steel steps. However, Lana was able to get in and at one point got Asuka down. However, Asuka kicked out and put Lana in an Asuka lock to win the match.
Afterward, Nia Jax pretended to respect Lana, but once again, Lana was put through the announcer’s table for the ninth week in a row.
Backstage, Dana Brooke got blindsided by an attack from Reckoning. This attack would cause Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke to lose their spots on the RAW Women’s Survivor Series team. The WWE announced that Lacy Evans and Peyton Royce replace them.
The New Day vs. The Hurt Business (WWE RAW Tag Team Championship Match)
Winner: The New Day
Before the match, MVP said The Hurt Business need to represent Team Raw well at Survivor Series because they were the best of the best. Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin said they would beat The New Day and beat the Street Profits at Survivor Series. The New Day disagreed.
When the match started, The Hurt Business took turns dominated Kofi Kingston. There were some impressive moves from Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin, but Kofi could get out of this with a tilt a whirl DDT and tag in Xavier Woods.
Xavier turned the tide and was able to clear the ring of Cedric and Shelton. Xavier then hit a missile dropkick on Cedric and almost got the win. Kofi then was tagged in, and even though he had taken an Angle Slam, he was still able to get a Daybreak against Cedric and win the match.
Team Raw vs. Retribution
Before the match, Jeff Hardy saw a flier about the accident with Elias, and in turn, Jeff beat up Elias. AJ Styles tried to hand out matching t-shirts, but the ream was not interested.
During the match, Team Raw still showed much dysfunction as they argued throughout the match. Riddle took much of the punishment as T-Bar, Mace, and Slapjack took turns dominating. Keith Lee was then able to get tagged in and took out Retribution. However, it wasn’t enough as Mustafa Ali was able to roll-up Riddle for the victory.
Bray Wyatt vs. The Miz
Winner: Bray Wyatt
After The Miz made the comments earlier in the night that Bray Wyatt was afraid of him, Bray called him out in the segment of The Firefly Fun House.
The Miz tried to talk Bray out of doing the match, but Alexa Bliss told him that Bray was not backing down. Nikki Cross came out to try and talk some sense into Alexa, which led to her getting slapped.
The Miz kept trying to take control of the match, but Bray kept coming. During this, Alexa launched herself at John Morrison. Bray was able to get The Miz in the corner, and then he hit Sister Abigail for the win.
After the match, Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss held hands, and “The Fiend” looked down on them.
Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre (WWE Championship Match)
Winner: Drew McIntyre
Before the match, Sheamus came and gave Drew McIntyre a kilt and a sword to remember his Scottish roots.
In the very beginning, Drew had the upper hand, and Randy Orton responded by trying to walk out of the match.
Adam Pearce came out to say there can be no disqualifications or count outs. There needed to be a winner. Randy then used a steel chair, the steel steps, and beat Drew’s head on the announcer table, but Drew kept coming.
Back in the ring, Drew changed the tide a bit with a backslide followed by a Future Shock DDT. Drew had tried to do the Claymore 3 times and failed all three times. After the 3rd attempt, Randy did a power slam and a draping DDT on the announcer’s table and then did the second one in the ring. Drew would once again kick out. There was some back and forth also, but this time Drew able to connect his fourth attempt at a Claymore and picked up the win. Drew once again became WWE Raw Champion setting up the match between him and Roman Reigns for Survivor Series.
