How We Got Here: The Story of Eddie Kingston & Jon Moxley
On Saturday, Eddie Kingston will be challenging Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at the Full Gear Pay-Per-View in an “I Quit Match.” These two men have a history going back over ten years.
“When Eddie Kingston signed a contract with AEW, nobody was happier about it than me.” – Jon Moxley.
This feud started because of their history; Eddie Kingston told the New York Post this week that Moxley will “pay for leaving me behind.” Moxley would leave the Independent Wrestling scene for the WWE. Eddie Kingston said he had real-life anger about Moxley going to the Stamford, Connecticut company. Kingston had opportunities with the WWE in which he had tryout matches for the company.
This weekend at Full Gear will be Kingston’s first opportunity to wrestle for a major company’s world championship in an 18-year career. Moxley cannot say the same; he is a former WWE World Champion. He’s had multiple tag-team titles and multiple singles titles in the WWE. He is also the current IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Will Kingston overcome the odds and beat the AEW World Champion? Find out Saturday, November 7th, at 7:00 pm Eastern Time.
