Monday Night Raw Recap November 2, 2020

Randy Orton Promo

Monday Night Raw opened up with Randy Orton giving a promo on his current championship reign ending with he is no longer the legend killer, but a legend. He also open challenged anyone who wanted to try and take the championship for him. Right after he said that Alexa Bliss came out and she said a little bit of a response before The Fiend’s music started to play.

Randy started to prepare himself to deal with The Fiend, but instead it was Drew McIntyre. Drew beat up Randy and threw him around and then said he wanted his rematch for the title. As he left the ring, The Miz and John Morrison came out and The Miz was just about to cash in his Money in the Bank contract before Drew came back into the ring and demolished them both. He gave a warning that the only person taking the belt off of Randy was him.  

Elias vs. Jeff Hardy (Guitar on a Pole Match)

Winner: Jeff Hardy

Elias started off the segment saying he wanted to play an acoustic version of his song “Amen”. Jeff Hardy interrupted him again and the match started. This match was a guitar on a pole match. Elias started the match off dominating Jeff. However, the tide was turned when Jeff was able to do the Twist of Fate. There was some back and forth between the two. Both of them tried to grab the guitar at various points of the match. However, Jeff was the one who got the guitar and he cracked Elias with it over his back. He then pinned Elias for the win.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

Winner: Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

While all of the ladies in the match are on Team Raw for Survivor Series, they had a Women’s Tag Team championship. Lana did come out to watch from ringside.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke dominated surprisingly very well in the early stages of the match. They were able to dominate both Nia and Shayna separately. Lana kept doing things on the side of the ring distracted Shayna on multiple occasions. Dana was able to get Shayna into a roll up pin and might have won the match if the referee was arguing with Lana on the side of the ring. Shayna was able to kick out and in turn sent Dana into Lana. Shayna did put Dana in the Kirifuda Clutch and Dana tapped. Shayna and Nia won the match.  

R-Truth vs. Bobby Lashley

Winner: Bobby Lashley

This was a quick match with R Truth coming out in the beginning saying he thought he was getting an autograph from a different Bobby. Bobby Lashley came out and immediately R Truth said Bobby could pin him right there and end the match. However, Bobby told him to get up and the match started with R Truth giving Bobby a kick to the face. Thus match ended with R Truth getting put into a Full Nelson. Bobby won the match.

After the match Drew Gulak tried to pin R-Truth, but Bobby also put him in a Full Nelson. After Bobby let him go, he put Drew over R-Truth and Drew got the 3 count, making him once again the 24/7 champion.

Team Raw Segment

Keith Lee vs. Braun Strowman vs. Sheamus

Winner: Braun Strowman

AJ Styles came out with Jordan Omogbehin  and said that he was the team caption of Team Raw for Survivor Series. He then called out Sheamus and Keith Lee, but then an argument ensued about who was the caption. Moments later Braun Strowman came out and said he needed to be on Team Raw even though he did not have a qualifying match. After some chaos, Adam Pearce appeared and said he couldn’t find any superstar willing to go into the ring with Braun. AJ suggested having a triple threat match between Braun, Keith and Sheamus and if Braun won the match he could be part of Team Raw. Adam agreed and that lead into the match.

This match was a heavy hitting match where Keith was able to dominate a good chunk of the match in the beginning. Keith and Sheamus worked together and then used the steps to take down Braun before focusing on each other.

Braun was able to recover and basically plowed through them crashing into a guardrail.

After a commercial break, Sheamus was doing a submission on Keith, while AJ in commentary kept saying that they shouldn’t hurt or injure each other. Keith got back in the match, but Braun once again knocked him out. At one point, Sheamus got a Tower of Doom superplex from Braun and Keith. Sheamus was able to recover from that and gave Keith a Brogue Keith. Braun was able to catch Sheamus in a power slam and win the match

The FireFly Fun House

Before this segment, Drew McIntyre accepted the challenge to a handicap match with The Miz and John Morrison,

Bray talked about Randy Orton being a bad man in the past and that the ashes from fire that Randy used to burn down the Wyatt Family compound was used to build a new world.

Alexa did finished the segment with showed blood coming out of her mouth which Bray saying “oh sh**” to end the segment.

Lana vs. Nia Jax

Winner: Nia Jax

This was a quick match, where Nia Jax toyed with Lana after what happened earlier in the night. Nia wanted to end Lan’s career and clearly outmatched her throughout the match. Nia was able to use a Samoan Drop and got the win. After the match Nia then sent Lana through another the announcer table for the 7th straight week.

The Hurt Business vs. The New Day

Winner: The Hurt Business

Before the match, MVP hosted “The MVP Lounge,” and he expressed there should be an award for riding WWE of its Retribution problem.  There was also a desire to win the Raw Tag Team Championships.

The New Day came out and listed all of their accomplishments which in turn made this a match between Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin vs Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

Xavier had the upper hand at the beginning of the match against Cedric Alexander. However Shelton came in and changed that. Kofi was tagged in and he dominated to match until he was knocked off the top rope onto the floor. The Hurt Business then used this to their advantage by holding Xavier hostage in the corner.

This went on for a bit until Xavier was able to hit an enzuigiri and allowed for him to tag in Kofi. Kofi once again dominated and even mocked MVP’s “Ballin” reference before Cedric hit a Boom Drop.

There was some good back and forth between the teams, before Shelton was able to use a Paydirt and then Cedric followed it with a Neuralyzer on Xavier to win the match.    

Ricochet vs. Tucker

This was a quick match that stemmed from Ricochet’s disdain to how Tucker treated Otis. This match ended quickly with a Recoil and Ricochet won the match. After the match Ali came with Retribution which ended with Retribution getting the upper hand

Drew McIntyre vs. Miz and John Morrison

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre took control of the match early by giving The Miz several chops to the chest. There was a quick break, but afterwards John Morrison and The Miz was able to get some offense on Drew. John almost did a move from the top tope, but Drew did a German from the top rope.

There was some good moments from the match, but no matter what The Miz threw at Drew, Drew kept coming. Drew was able to do a Future Shock DDT, and was going to do the Claymore, but John pushed The Miz out of the way. However, Drew was able to get a Claymore on The Miz before winning the match.

After the match Randy Orton came out and gave Drew a RKO and Raw ended with The Fiends laughter in the background.
